This structured three-day course is the first one to utilize the Restoration Industry Association (RIA) Forensic Guidelines as the core of the training information. The jam-packed schedule is heavy on hands-on training and provides participants with the OSHA required respirator fit test and Bloodborne Pathogen certificates that are legal necessities for work in this industry.
Course Content: This fast moving course covers a wide array of concepts, some as a quick review and others in depth, to provide the participants with the "big picture" of a proper forensic response. Forensic activities include but are not limited to:
- Mass casualty
- Crime and trauma situations
- Unattended death
- Unsanitary dwellings
- Infectious disease
- Tear gas/CS gas/irritants
- Illicit drug labs and grow operations
- Contamination from animals, including nests, carcasses, and fecal matter
Note: Course topics and discussion will include life's unfortunate events and subject matter that some may find disturbing. Class attendees should be pre-screened to ensure that they are psychologically fit to participate. Some graphic material is included in the course.
Pre-Requisites: All participants need to bring a copy of their medical fitness for duty from their medical doctor for wearing personal protective equipment.
