” AskDickWagner Coaching helps service business owners build sales and route marketing teams that create trust, follow up with purpose, and produce measurable revenue — not just activity.”

Dick Wagner has served the restoration industry for over 28 years, bringing deep experience in structural drying, environmental inspection, remediation, fire and smoke restoration, contents inventory, and pack-out operations.

Early in his restoration career, Dick spent three years teaching insurance adjusters how to audit personal lines claims, especially contents claims, for potential fraud. That experience gave him a rare understanding of the insurance side, the contractor side, and the important relationship between the two.

Over time, Dick saw a frequent problem in restoration: many contractors were relying on random marketing, inconsistent follow-up, and word-of-mouth luck instead of a structured system for building commercial relationships. He believed contractors needed a more professional and repeatable way to develop pre-disaster relationships with commercial clients.

In 2009, Dick created and began offering an exclusive pre-disaster planning program to select independent contractors across the United States. That program became the nationally recognized PREP™ – Priority Response Emergency Plan, helping hundreds of restoration contractors build stronger commercial sales programs and develop thousands of commercial end-user relationships.

While Dick’s background is deeply rooted in restoration, the sales and marketing principles he teaches apply to many service-based businesses. Today, through AskDickWagner Coaching, he works with restoration companies, home service companies, and other service businesses that need stronger sales systems, better follow-up, more confident marketers, and a clearer way to win profitable clients.

His coaching is especially valuable for businesses that depend on relationships, referrals, local reputation, and consistent business development. Dick helps salespeople and marketers stop “just checking in” and start showing up with purpose, better questions, and a real reason for every visit.

His approach is practical, direct, and built from real field experience. He coaches teams on how to identify stronger prospects, build trust, create meaningful follow-up, improve referral relationships, and become a valuable resource instead of just another salesperson dropping off literature and hoping for mercy.

Dick is Past President of the Society of Cleaning and Restoration Technicians (SCRT), one of the nation’s largest restoration trade organizations. He also served for six years on the executive board of the Donate4Kids Foundation, a nonprofit foster children’s organization in Florida. In addition, he was appointed by the State of Florida as a Guardian ad Litem, serving for six years as a foster child advocate.

In 2010, he created AskDickWagner.com, a website featuring hundreds of blog articles on sales, marketing, route marketing, referral development, restoration growth, and business coaching.

He successfully coaches marketing and sales teams all over the US, and lives in Southwest Florida with his wife of 38 years.
